Some helpful hints for you

Thank you for choosing Aston Formal Wear for your wedding suits. We genuinely want you and your party to get the best from us in both product and service so that we earn your recommendation to your friends. The following pointers should serve as a useful guide as to how to help us do our best work for you.  Some of it won't be relevant now, so keep it to hand to refer to as your wedding day approaches.  It's good to go through this with your groomsmen also.

Our Guarantee

You have come to us to get the best rental suits available. The only way we know to guarantee this is to work to our tried and tested system usually involving two visits from each of your party. Contact us now, if you feel that this might not be possible.

Measurement

Ideally all members of your party will visit us to be measured between seven and eight weeks (children, four weeks) prior to your collection date.  This visit takes less than half an hour and will involve trying on some or all of the garments on your order.   We’ll try to do our best with whatever timescale you need to work to, but please remember that our best work takes a little time to produce.  If any of your party have been measured before you confirmed your booking please let us know now.

There’s a form here for those who can’t make it in for their initial measurement.

Full Fitting

We'll have your suits ready in the days before you've arranged to collect them.  It's a good idea for each of the suits to be tried on before they leave the shop so please arrange a fitting appointment for each of your party.

Deposits and Payments

Apart from your rental we charge a ‘Small Item / Security Deposit’. As the ‘Small Item Deposit’ is refundable, it is in addition to, and not included in the ‘Total Amount Due’ box. You may pay your deposit in cash, or by debit / credit card when you collect your suits.  We will charge out of this deposit for: Late Return without prior agreement, heavily soiled or damaged (except accidental damage) or Unreturned Garments. If you’ve any queries, please just ask us for full details.  It's our policy to deal only with the Groom re: payments, unless either of you ask otherwise.  We accept most major credit and debit cards, bank drafts and cash.  On request we can issue a Paypal invoice.  All payments to be made before, or on collection.

Surcharges

The prices we quote are for garments sized up to 48” chest and 42” waist for one weekend’s hire and for one full fitting.  We can supply larger sizes and other special requirements but it may be necessary to add a small surcharge.

Changing Your Order

You’re more than welcome to request changes to your original order.  We’ll do our best to make those changes and ask that you give us as much notice as you can.   We may need to refer back to you if another member of your party suggests a change.

Suit Return

Some garments hired to you may be needed for hire immediately after your wedding.  If we can extend your rental without charge we will do so. However, where suits are returned late without agreement, we will charge a minimum late return fee of €25.00 per suit per day.

Small items missing from your order are charged for - subject to a full refund on subsequent return within 30 days.  Jackets, Trousers or Waistcoats are not considered ‘Small Items’ in this context and may be charged for at a nominal daily rate.   Suit covers attract a replacement charge of €45.

Ties, Cravats, Pocket Squares etc.

Because we have such a range of colours, many ties and cravats are ordered by us especially for each wedding.  Neckwear orders must be finalised at least two weeks before your collection date.  Digital devices are not reliable for colour matching.

Our Opening Hours

We're ordinarily open from 10.00am through 5.00pm Monday to Saturday. On holiday weekends we close at 4pm Saturday.

Mobility Impaired Customers

Our first floor shop is not easily accessible for all customers.  We are available for home or off-site measurements and fittings for any Dublin based members of your party who may be mobility impaired.  A supplement of €45 applies to this service.  Please enquire for details.

Access By Car

While we're keen to suggest you use public transport where possible it's likely that when you're collecting your suits your may need to bring a car to town.  There are convenient car parks on Jervis Street and Trinity Street which are easily accessed from both north and south side but they are a short walk away.

The nearest to us is the Fleet Street car park (eircode D02 A375).  If you're coming from the north quays, continue downriver past O'Connell Bridge turning left at Liberty Hall (just before the overhead Loopline railway bridge) and then keeping to the right hand lane or the one beside it.  This'll bring you around the back of the Customs House, on to the Matt Talbot Memorial Bridge and turning right to go back up the quays. Straight on up until you get to SuperValu and turn left onto Aston Place and on to the car park.  This car park has a max. vehicle height of 6'10" / 2.1 metres.  We'll give you a voucher for one hour's parking when you call to collect or return your suits.

Complaints or Criticisms

While positive feedback is great, if you have any concerns let us know before you continue, so we can be sure we're working with you in time for your wedding.  We love Google Reviews and would be delighted if you would take the time to rate and review our service.

Contacting Us

The best way to reach us is usually by telephone on 01 679 6100.  There’s a voicemail on that line if we can’t get to the call on time.  Please leave a message.  If you need us out of hours you can use 087 411 5232 or email [email protected] - it's not a 24 hour service but no harm in trying anyway.
